Rodenstock's Rocco models were popular from the 60s and 70s onwards, until production ceased in the early 90s. 

To reintroduce the brand, an irreverent fake news story explained where Rocco had been all this time. (Brochure version of the story below.)

 

The campaign has a social presence with #whereisrocco.

I proactively suggested that users could submit their own reasons for Rocco's disappearance for a chance to win Rocco eyewear. 

This mechanic was integrated into the brand story.
